About ICMSA
The Principal Objectives of the Association are to:
- Promote the highest standards of practice within the industry.
- Represent the views of all members.
- Maintain communication / consultation with comparable industry organisations.
- Consider relevant developments in the International Capital Markets and Money Markets.
History
The Association was established in December 1994 to provide a focal point for organisations providing Paying Agency and similar services in the International Capital Markets. The Association continues to represent the majority of Paying Agent banks in the market. Examples of successful projects are given below.
- Contributed to a review of IPMA’s rules and recommendations relating to “Format of Eurobonds”.
- Formulated and published guidelines for the appointment of Paying Agents on MTN programmes, which have become market practice.
- Recommended and negotiated terms for market standardisation of proforma Pricing Supplements.
- Issued market recommendations on the redenomination of outstanding legacy debt issues with respect to the euro.
- Published a joint statement with ACI, Cedelbank, Euroclear, IPMA, ISDA and ISMA on market conventions for the euro.
